The 65th WA was held in Braga Portugal from June 13th to 15th at the University of Minho. Professor Maria Assuncao Flores, the conference chair and her team did an amazing job of making delegates from around the world feel welcome. The quality of the papers, panel discussions and poster sessions was excellent as we explored the theme, Enhancing the Teaching Profession Through Quality Teacher Education: Purpose, Policy and Practice in Times of Teacher Shortage.
Over the three days of the conference delegates enjoyed fellowship and networking with colleagues from all over the world, amazing Portuguese food and wine, and several social events, including a Gala Dinner, which highlighted traditional Portuguese dance and music. Keynote speeches were delivered by  Professor Antonio Novoa from the University of Lisbon and entitled ‘Teacher Education; A third revolution’, Professor Lin Godwin from Boston College who spoke about Enhancing the Teaching Profession through Quality Teacher Educators: addressing a need whose time has come’ and Professor Kari Smith, from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology who focussed on “Educating Teachers in a World of Insecurity.”
